Death toll rises to 34
The death toll of Palestinian patients who have been denied access to medical facilities outside the Gaza Strip has reached 34 with the death, on Monday, of 59-year-old Fatima Abdul Al from heart problems.

Prompted by the unfolding humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip due to the 20-month-long siege, which has been tightened since the events of June 2007 to encompass a hermetic closure of the strip, a group of organisations concerned with the welfare of Palestinians initiated a campaign against the siege on Gaza mid-November 2007.

Here is a chronology of events since the so called Israeli disengagement from the Gaza Strip in August 2005, to December 2007 where the Gaza Strip has become the largest concentration camp on earth, lacking food and medicine with patients dying because of being denied access to treatment abroad.
